The place was fairly uncluttered to start, but a bunch of decisions needed to be made and the end result is a functional, organized garage. I personally learned a great deal working with Miriam.
The pivotal point came near the end of the day when my mother held up the deteriorated corsage that my father had given her on their wedding day. As she started to place it back in the trunk Miriam asked “If you throw it away, you were still married to him, right?” She looked at it a while and said, “Well of course!” Then she threw it away.
